The Deferred Presentment Database is Ready to Register Historical Transactions

Jacksonville, FL – February 20, 2002

The Deferred Presentment Database is going live on February 26, 2002 and all open transactions, as of that date and originated on or after October 1, 2001, must be registered on the Database prior to midnight of that date.

ALL Deferred Presentment Providers (DPPs), as defined by Section 560.402, operating in the State of Florida must observe the Florida Department of Banking and Finance (“Department”) rules 3C-560.902-912.  These rules include guidelines for loading required information into the Database for all open deferred presentment transactions.

NOTE:  The process for loading initial data is designed to recognize the fact that some historical transactions may not comply with the rules effective October 1, 2001.  The initial data upload process will allow you to register these transactions on the database.

Your options for loading required information as outlined in the DBF rules are:

1.      Manually enter customer and transaction data for all existing open transactions via the www.FLADPP.com website.  The website will is available as of February 20, 2002 with an option for “DPP Data Upload”.  Your DPP Administrator will be will be allowed access to this feature on the site until February 26, 2002.

2.      Provide Veritec with an electronic file in a format defined in the DPP Data Upload Instructions document.  The data can be provided via standard floppy disc, CD ROM, via transmission to an FTP site established for this purpose, or can be attached to an email and sent to Thomas Reinheimer.  It is recommended that any email attachment be sent in a secured manner (e.g. a password protected file)

NOTE: Since the time for advising Veritec of intent to submit an electronic file for upload has passed, any such files submitted after February 20, 2002 may not be loaded in time to register transactions on the database in time to meet the February 26, 2002 deadline. Therefore, if a DPP has not already scheduled this upload with Veritec, you are advised to load your transactions via the website. Your Certified Administrators can contact Veritec, once they have completed training and certification, to obtain their ID and password for the website.

Veritec will automatically load your data to the Database and send back a listing of rejected records from the load process.  NOTE: DPPs are responsible for providing accurate data in the specified format.  Veritec is not responsible for loading of data that does not meet specified requirements.  Records that are rejected can be corrected and re-submitted if desired.

Veritec Solutions, L.L.C. (“Veritec”) is the vendor selected by the Department, to implement and operate the database and the associated support operations. Veritec can be contacted at 1-877-FLA-DPP1.
